Things I’m ~excited~ for in Season 8.
I know I said on Friday that I was disappointed and have little to no hope for S8. However it’s been a few days and I’ve been thinking a lot about it and reading a few posts about what ~could~ happen and it’s making me a little less hesitant. I was initially excited after the finale ended (mainly because of the ‘WTF? I did not expect that. I wonder what’ll happen! OH CRAP.’ but it turned negative an hour later and now I’m finally coming around, I think.:
- Purgatory and the really good potential horrors that go with it. Every monster they have killed is probably there and even worse than before. I really hope they (the writers and showrunners) use this to the fullest potential. I want horror and gore (as horrific and gory as the CW can allow) from all of these supernatural beings supposedly clawing and fighting with each other.
- The potential to bring back old friends and foes. Mary and John, Bobby, Gabriel, Alastair, Lilith and so many more. There’s really no end to what they could bring back and throw at Dean and hopefully Sam down the road once he finds a way to get Dean back which you know he will. I hope.
- There could be so many throwbacks to the old-school feel of the show. I mean seasons 1 and 2. I don’t really know how to explain it but I feel if the episodes are written well and the season goes in the right direction, it could get its groove back.
- Sam’s angst and emotion over being totally and completely alone. I’m positive we’ll get to see more of this than we did the last time in S4. I really doubt he’ll hook up with a demon and go ~darkside~ like last time but I’m really kind of ready for more Sam-centric stuff in the picture. I know it’ll be spit with 1/2 Dean and 1/2 Sam until they reunite but I really hope they do it right.
- I know it’s a small thing but if it could be a chance to let Dean and Sam go without grooming for a while. Dean’s stuck in Purgatory so he’ll be wearing the same thing until Sam get him out. He’ll also have no option to shave or clean himself in any way, shape for form. Sam, on the other hand, may have a chance to clean up a bit but I really hope he’ll be so caught up in trying ti get Dean back that he’ll let go of at least shaving. I need scuff. It’s petty, I know. But I would love it. The show should really, by now, the ~realistic~ side of being a hunter. No freshly cleaned clothes, no daily baths even though motels are in the picture, no shaving because who has time to go to the Kwik-E Mart to buy some Gillettes when his brother is out there and needs saving?
- Season 8 could premiere in my birthday, October 10. I saw a tweet last night saying it was but I couldn’t find any other concrete confirmation. I think since it’s premiering later, it’ll either be 10/3 or 10/10 which could be a really good or a really bad birthday for me. lol.
